The European Poker Tour Sanremo Season 10 has a winner, and it’s a mainstream celebrity. It’s a lady. It’s a Team PokerStars Pro. And she started out as the absolute short stack. Television presenter and journalist Victoria Coren Mitchell went all in to scoop nearly £400,000 and make poker history on Sunday night.

Eight players returned today to play for the EPT San Remo title, but they all knew that only one could walk away winner, while the rest would have to settle for the rest. Of these eight, only one had a previous title to her name – Victoria Coren – Mitchell, who was going for her second EPT victory after 2006 trophy from London.

Coren Mitchell (who formerly went by Coren but changed her name after marrying famous British comedian David Mitchell) came into the final table as the short stack, being the only player with less than a million in chips heading into the final eight. Coren is part of PokerStars Team Pro, but is not a full time poker professional. She also is a writer and a TV presenter, with columns for The Observer and The Guardian newspapers and hosts the television quiz show Only Connect.

Vicky Coren-Mitchell started out as the final table’s short stack, but when the dust settled she was the last one standing. After winning the 16th-ever EPT back in London during Season 3, Coren Mitchell has now won the 98th EPT to write poker history by becoming the first player to win capture two EPT Main Event titles.

For this last result, she took home a first-place prize of €476,100 and a stunning watch worth more than €5,000 from luxury Swiss brand SLYDE, the official watch sponsor for EPT Season 10 main and high roller events

Following her win, the 41-year-old tweeted to her 230,000 followers: “I WON! I bloody WON!!!!!! Sorry for that language on Easter Sunday. But I WON!!!!!! That is at least partly thanks to the amazing support, God bless everyone.

Unibet To Temporarily Close Registrations From Russia

Unibet has taken the decision to temporarily close registrations from Russia. This means that it will no longer be possible for customers from Russia to sign up on Unibet.com or Maria.com.

This change will take place immediately but will not affect existing togel hongkong customers. It will also still be possible for customers to sign up from all other Russian-speaking countries and those markets should not be affected at all.

Concerns about mixing “soft” and “hard” gambling

Changes to Britain’s gaming laws could tempt people into problem gambling and force many bingo clubs out of business, the bingo industry has warned.

The government is preparing new legislation after considering a report from the Gaming Review Body, which recommended deregulation.

But bingo club owners fear a shake-up could threaten their future and are further warning that bingo would be used to tempt punters into “problem gambling”.

The Gaming Review Body, chaired by the former Treasury economist Sir Alan Budd, also proposed all-night betting with alcohol and live entertainment.

It also advocated ending restrictions which force people to apply for membership of bingo halls and casinos 24 hours before they can play.

But Sir Peter Fry, the chairman of the Togel Hongkong Bingo Association, said: “Bingo will simply become a loss-leading product, used by casinos to tempt bingo players into playing harder forms of gambling.

“Overall revenues to the government might increase marginally as a result of shifting spending between gaming activities but at the cost of significantly higher levels of problem gambling and the loss of bingo.”

Budd’s recommendations represent a sea-change in gaming policy and could be extremely damaging to the licensed bingo sector

Sir Peter said he was not opposed to casinos, but warned that bingo clubs formed part of the social fabric of communities.

They were already under pressure from high taxes and competition from the National Lottery and scratchcards, he said.

He disputed the report’s conclusion that bingo club numbers would not be affected.

“In practice, it is far more likely that existing bingo club premises will convert to casinos with a large number of stand-alone clubs closing as a result.”

Sir Peter also warned that bingo players may be alienated by the harder gaming atmosphere.

And repercussions for bingo clubs could affect the Exchequer.

The Department of Culture, Media and Sport said it could not comment on the claims before the White Paper was published.
